Fall and winter bring so many exciting things to celebrate!

Winter Solstice will be on Tuesday, December 21st, the shortest day of the year!
In our teams we are considering all the amazing things that we have the wonderful opportunity to celebrate with children, like the winter solstice and the beautiful seasonal changes that many children and educators are observing and documenting. Light, shadow and dark are interesting concepts to explore and many children will be having these experiences for the first time! I just love to see how classrooms are choosing celebrate something that everyone can participate in, rather than the pressure of Christmas decorations, activities and music as it lies under a religion, and not a Compass celebration as we are not a religious organization. Oh how far we have come over the years!
