About the Role
Compass ELC is a licensed TimberNook Educator. Timbernook is an internationally recognized nature-based program designed to challenge the sens, inspire creativity, imagination and independent play. We are seeking an Early Childhood Educator to work alongside another Timbernook Educator to deliver programming in a beautiful forest north of Lakefield throughout the summer.
Some accountabilities associated with the role
Is committed to outdoor learning
Being reliable, flexible and enjoy working outside in all weather
Having the ability to commit to Summer-long programs, March break and PA days
Empower age-appropriate risk-taking and deep play, based on process-oriented learning
Observing and learning the children’s play, communication and problem solving.
Maintaining a safe environment by providing checkups on the areas used in the forest
Giving the children time and space to play in sensory-rich, experiential learning environments
Using the environment as inspiration for creative play opportunities
About You
You are registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators or have an equivalent educational background. You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a child care setting and you possess the training and documents required by the Ministry of Education to work in the field of Early Learning and Care. Have shown a commitment to lifelong learning and exploring current research in the outdoor learning field. Have a solid understanding of the Timbernook philosophy and methods
*Our Timbernook Educators are seasonal positions spanning over the Summer months, March break, PA days and school trips.
