Labour Updates

This page is designed to keep CELC families up to date regarding the possible job actions. We are hopeful that agreements will be reached and we support the efforts the teachers are making on behalf of children and families in our province. We also want you to know that during strike action, CELC will provide child care for families.

We will be sharing information with impacted Compass ELC families via the Sandbox Parent Portal. Setting up the notifications is a great way to ensure you get the info easily on your phone.

As always, we hope an equitable agreement will be reached, however want to attempt to provide child care for families who require it, as a way of supporting families and teachers. More about that can be found here:

Ministry of Education:

The Ministry of Education has indicated that they will be launching a ‘Support for Parents’ initiative to provide financial support to parents of eligible children due to the labour disruption. This includes parents with children attending school-based child care centres that are closed due to labour disruption.
