Observation and Documentation- Lorrie BairdObservation is an important part of our practice. Have you ever asked yourself…If children are interested in everything, how do I know what to observe? What are children really learning as they play? How do I know what to look for? These sessions will delve into observation as a way to see competencies of children, and grow a practice of listening. Documentation begins with observation and allows us to bring visibility to the teaching and learning process and in turn deepens our understanding. Various forms of documentation and protocols will be considered. This two part series is offered as a foundation for observation and documentation and is closely connected to the pedagogical foundation series and it is a great refresher for all those who have been doing this work for some time.
